7DAYS/6NIGHTS ZANZIBAR.
DAY1:
Arrival in Zanzibar airport where you will be met with our driver and be taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight – STONE TOWN
DAY2: – PRISON ISLAND – BAWE AND NAKUPENDA SANDBANK
At 0900am you will be taken from your hotel for a full day at Prison Island and Nakupenda (I love you) Sandbank. Prison Island was formerly owned by an Arab and was privately used as a place of detention for disobedient slaves. It was built in 1893 as a central prison for Zanzibar, hence the name “PRISON ISLAND”. You will be able to see Giant Tortoises, Dik dik, Peacock, Prison Chamber, Mangrove forest and perhaps swim and snorkel if interested.
In the early afternoon you will move to Nakupenda Island and sandbank (30 minutes) by boat.
This is the ideal place near stone town where you can relax, swim, and snorkel while enjoying your BBQ of seafood, soft and hard drinks, tropical fruits under the shade of built umbrellas. Lunch will be ready at 1pm.
In the evening you will be brought at the shores for an hour break before joining a sunset cruise at 5-7pm (optional).
Dinner and overnight in – STONE TOWN
DAY3: BLUE SAFARI – THE HIGHLIGHT OF ZANZIBAR.
We leave stone town at 0900am to Fumba village where our sailing boat will be awaiting to take us to Kwale Island for BLUE WATER SAFARI – The highlight of Zanzibar.
We will sail in a beautiful traditional wooden dhow, watch Dolphins (if we have a chance of seeing them) at play, snorkel over the reefs of Menai Bay conservation area, feast on a swahili influenced seafood buffet that include Fish on coconut source, Rice, French Fries, Calamari, Lobster, Prawns, tropical fruits etc.
We will visit a Baobab tree believed to be more than 500years old before sailing back to Fumba village and back to your hotel for dinner and overnight. – STONE TOWN
DAY4: CITY TOUR – SPICE FARMS TOUR – KENDWA/NUNGWI.
After breakfast (0900am), we will have a chance to visit Town Markets, old slave markets, National Museum, High court building, Old German Consulate, Africa House (former English Club), Tippu Tip House and Grave, Kele kele square, Old British Consulate, Orphanage home, Old Fort, Forodhani Gardens, House of Wonders, Sultan Palace, Dr. Livingstone House, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Old Mosques, Freddie Mercury House among others.
After the City tour around 12pm we will drive to Spice farm (20-30mins) to experience the rare tropical fruits, spices and other rare species of plants that grow in Zanzibar.
You will have a chance to eat, smell and taste different fruits and spices to learn why Zanzibar is called a spice Island.Lunch will be in the farm to taste spicy food prepared by local women group there.
Late afternoon we will drive to Kendwa/Nungwi in the North for dinner and overnight
DAY 5: FREE DAY IN NUNGWI.
DAY 6: NUNGWI – JOZANI FOREST – PAJE.
After breakfast (0900am) we will leave for Jozani Forest.
At 09:00 am we will drive to Jozani forest where we will have our breakfast/brunch in the hotel in the park.
We will have another 2-3hrs of exploring the only National Park in Zanzibar to see Jozani Black and white Colobus monkey, Mangrove forest walk, butterfly Centre (if interested).
In the afternoon we will drive to Michamvi/PAJE beach (East Coast) for a beach break including visiting The Rock Restaurant for Lunch/Dinner or just for a drink.
Dinner and overnight in PAJE.
DAY 7: DOLPHIN TOUR – AIRPORT
Another adventurous day to swim with Dolphins.
Depart from your hotel at 06:00 am to Kizimkazi (southern coast) village; board your motorized boat to find playful Dolphins out in the open waters. Swim with then if you can or otherwise watch them from the boat. Kizimkazi is the most popular Dolphin spotting location where you can see both BOTTLE – NOSED and HUMPBACK DOLPHINS. In the evening drive to airport for your flight backhome.
